1994 brought about This Hour has 22 Minutes on CBC. Mercer was one of the writers and stars of the show. The hilarious segment, Talking to Americans, turned into a one-time hour-long special (which according to CBC is the highest-rated Canadian comedy special of all time) in 2001. I think it's time we congratulate our great nation on legalizing staplers and insulin. Rick Mercer currently hosts The Rick Mercer Report, which recently found him being tucked into bed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Stroumboulopoulos was my solid #1 for a long time, but he dropped a few spots once The Mighty Russian came along. I liked Stroumboulopoulos better when he was on MuchMusic. Back when I watched MuchMusic. Back when they played music. That being said, Stroumboulopoulos is still one hot motherfucker, though his television show is nothing to write home about. I met him once about two years ago when he was at Grant MacEwan giving a talk. He was very nice to everyone who wanted to talk and have a picture taken with him. I also have a "Mrs. Stroumboulopoulos" t-shirt from back then. He is sexy because he's outspoken, likes decent music, is intelligent and he's also nice to look at. And he has a wicked last name. While most people might suggest that Murphy is not aesthetically pleasing, he is sexy because he's intelligent, politically-aware, and he has an amazing grasp of the English language. He attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar! Rex Murphy never shies away from putting someone in his/her place, whether that person is a caller to his show or a politician being discussed.
